Barbie Games: Get Barbie Hair

Barbie’s best feature is definitely her hair. If you like Barbie’s long and luscious locks, you can certainly have them too – if you know what to do.

Grow Your Hair Out
Your first step is to grow out your hair. You can’t have long hair without growing it out. Of course, if you’d rather skip this step, you can always go for extensions, but that is a pretty drastic step – I’d recommend patience over fake hair.

Dye it Blonde
Don’t try to dye dark hair blonde by yourself. You’ll need to work with an experienced colorist to find the right method to lighten your hair to that golden blonde. Of course, some Barbies don’t have the light blonde hair. If you’re interested in the look with darker hair, Barbie’s friends have plenty of inspiration.

Blow it Big
The only way to get the huge hair that Barbie has is by blowing it dry and teasing it up to make it as large as possible. Use a blow dryer after washing it. Turn your head upside down so that you can dry the roots when they are straight, and use a brush to help give it even more lift as you dry. Mousse and hairspray will give it the hold your hair needs to keep the look.

Three Fun Barbie Games

Looking for something to do on a rainy afternoon? Why not pull out those Barbie dolls so that you can try a new Barbie game?

Barbie Dress Up
The basic Barbie games never go out of style. Grab your doll and her outfits and practice getting her ready for a big date with Ken. When the rain stops, you can also head to the store with a bit of spare cash to buy a new outfit or ten to help keep the game going.

Barbie Online
Put the dolls down and hop on the computer to play the hundreds of Barbie games you can find online. Dress up a virtual Barbie, help her build her house, and play along in any number of other fun activities.

Barbie Fashion Show
Take your dress up game just a step further and include Barbie in a fashion show. If you have more than one Barbie doll, you can prepare a true fashion show complete with music, lights, and a catwalk. Line up your other dolls to watch or invite your friends over to take part in the fun.

Barbie Movie Marathon

It’s raining or hot and you don’t want to go outside. You’re also tired of doing your required reading and watching television. This is the perfect day to host a movie marathon. Grab a friend or two and head to the movie store. You’ll want to find the best selection possible for this marathon because you’re not watching new releases – you’re watching the best of the Barbie movies.

While not among the traditional Barbie games, Barbie movies are a lot of fun for those of us who enjoy the blonde haired dolls. If you’ve never seen any of the Barbie movies, you’re seriously missing out on some fun animated entertainment. Rent three or four of the movies, pull on your pajamas, grab your pillow and settle in for a different kind of entertainment.

Barbie movies are a lot like any animated feature film. They are happy, have small problems that are easily overcome and the girls in the movies are pretty. Pretty mindless when you want to just relax and enjoy relaxing for a bit with the kinds of movies that will keep you interested without making you think very much.

Barbie’s Birthday Party

You might have had a Barbie theme at your own birthday party, but surely you’ve noticed that no matter how many times Barbie shows up at your birthday party and those of your friends, nobody ever take the time to plan Barbie’s birthday party.

If you love Barbie games, prepare Barbie’s birthday party is one of the best versions around. Not only do you get to decorate and pick out a cake for guests, you also get to invite all of your friends and their Barbie dolls. It gets tricky at this point, however – if you have five friends with five Barbies, does that mean all of the dolls are worthy of celebrating on the special day? It’s up to you.

Barbie’s official birthday was March 9, 1959 so the day of celebration is still a fair way away. Of course, if you’re going to throw her a golden birthday party for turning fifty this year, it might take you months to plan. But if you’d rather not wait months, you can have a party whenever you want. Send evites to your friends and decorate Barbie’s dream house.

Bake a cake for you and your friends to enjoy while you gather around the play house with Barbie for a rousing round of singing and gossip about all the Kens in the world.

Horses and Barbie Games

Of all our favorite Barbie games, the best is easily the horses. Barbie is lucky enough to have one of everything it would seem, and that includes her own horse. Naturally, since you probably don’t have your own horse, you might be a bit envious that Barbie has hers. Never fear, though – you can easily share the horse and use it in many of your Barbie games.
Name the Horse
Your first step will be to name the horse. It might come with a name as all Barbie items do, but you certainly don’t need to stick to that name if it doesn’t suit the horse you’re including in your games. Give the horse the perfect name and then you’re really ready for action.

Decorate the Horse
Just as you dress up Barbie, you should dress up her horse. Start by brushing the horse’s mane and tale. Then take the time to braid each – use many smaller braids to make the appearance even more glamorous than a single braid would be. Use thin, colored ribbons to make streamers in the mane and tail by tying them at the top of each braid. You might even include the ribbon as part of the braids.

When she’s beautiful, put on her saddle and help Barbie ride away!

Create Barbie’s House

It would seem that Barbie no longer just has her dream house. Now, you get to create Barbie’s house for her. The Barbie My House opens up a whole new realm of Barbie games. You’re able to design her house and arrange the rooms any way you want simply by moving some of the flexible walls and furniture.

Of course, if you aren’t lucky enough to have any formal house for your baby, you can still create your very own Barbie house.

Grab a large cardboard box of some kind – it can be a diaper box, a packing box, or even a large cereal box. Cut off the flaps at the top of the box leaving the box wide open. Turn the box on its side to create the basic house.

Now, to create walls and possibly two stories (if your box is tall enough) cut a slit in the center of the flaps you removed. The cut should be from the side to the middle of the flap. Do this on another flap that fits the other direction of the box. Put the two together overlapping the cuts to keep them in place. Put the cross you’ve made into the box and your new Barbie house suddenly has four rooms.

You can now decorate the rooms as you please!

High School Musical Barbie Games

If you love High School Musical, it’s great that Barbie has found a way to expand the fun indefinitely. The movies might only last a couple of hours, but when you play Barbie games with the characters from High School Musical, you’re in Wildcat territory for as long as you want.

The makers of Barbie have created dolls for all of the major characters in both of the High School Musical movies. Collect them all or just one and you can make up your own story lines and happy endings.

Do you think things should have ended differently or you’re just dying to know what happens next? With your dolls, you have the chance to make the story play out any way you want. The best part of all is that you don’t have to keep the High School Musical dolls all by themselves.

Invite Gabriella and Troy over to Barbie's dream house for a bit of singing and dancing. They can even go on a double date with Barbie and Ken. Let Sharpay grow out of her nasty phase and she can be best friends with your other dolls. Whatever you decide, the characters will keep you in high spirits and most likely leave humming a catchy tune.

Why Barbie Games Are Fun for All Ages

Playing all manner of Barbie games makes for hours of enjoyment. You can play the games online by dressing up a virtual version of Barbie, or you can play with your real Barbies – creating stories and giving her the right outfit to wear in any occasion. In fact, Barbie games are so universal, they are fun for people of all ages:

Barbie games bring generations together. When your grandmother comes to visit, she’s not going to be able to play video or computer games with you most likely, but she will certainly be able to play with your Barbie dolls. In fact, while she’s dressing up Barbie and doing her hair, she’ll probably tell you a few stories of her own about Barbies she had growing up.

Barbies are collectibles. You can collect Barbies to play with or to simply keep and preserve for enjoyment and future generations. Either way, it’s a long lasting love affair, especially if you’re keeping the Barbies as collectibles. You’ll likely start your collection young, but enjoy the boxed versions of the dolls so much that you’ll continue well into adulthood. You might even bring your own daughter into your passion for collecting down the road at some point.

Barbie speaks a universal language. Unlike the rest of us who squabble and squawk about anything and everything, Barbie is a constant smiling face who communicates in a language we understand – fashion. You can hate your best friend for the day, but still find common ground in the latest Barbie outfits. She’s an excellent ambassador.
