Strange news is afoot with some of America’s most well-known celebrities. It would seem that Barbie games are getting more popular with pop culture and now the Kim Kardashian dolls are going to be sold. In fact, if you’re not happy with Kim you can enjoy playing Barbie games with either of her sisters as well. All three of the Kardashian girls are going to be made into their own Barbie dolls as part of a marketing development for the three.

This is a big deal, of course. Only a few stars have ever had their own Barbie games, especially dolls that actually look like a celebrity rather than a character from a movie. For example, we have a Jacob Barbie game, but not a Taylor Lautner one. For Kim and company to have their own dolls, they have demonstrated that not only are they the sort of brand that people would enjoy having, but they are also popular enough with younger girls that the dolls will actually sell. It’s almost a scary thought.

I was browsing the aisles of my local stores looking for the perfect assortment of gifts for the holidays and I stumbled across more than a few outstanding sales on Barbie games. Sadly I didn’t need as many Barbie games as I could have purchased by taking advantage of the sale, but I was impressed nonetheless. Normally you’d expect to pay close to a ten dollar minimum for a basic Barbie doll, but some of the sales I’ve been seeing would have let me buy some new Barbie games for about four dollars per doll.

The Barbie car was available for close to ten dollars – it’s normally closer to twenty. The Barbie playhouse was marked down almost forty percent. It made me wish that I had more nieces and young friends who love Barbie games as much as I do. Then, at least, I could have truly taken advantage of the sales and enjoyed having those pretty pink boxes wrapped up under the tree. As it is, I was able to buy a couple of Barbie games at least and I’ll just have to enjoy the rest as the situation arises – maybe next year will be my year for Barbie games.

I love the Barbie games that feature a large Barbie head. I have almost bought the Barbie games like these for friends and children of family members countless times. A few times I’ve given in to the urge to buy them and other times I’m a bit more restrained and I wonder if the doll head would be something that the little girl in that family would really enjoy. The last thing I want to do is give someone a Barbie games gift that they can’t enjoy or use right away.

Fortunately, at least a couple of times I’ve been able to find the Barbie heads for a reasonable price and I grab them for girls that seem to be the right age – just old enough to want to fix hair and play beauty parlor, but not so old that they are out of sorts with getting a Barbie game for Christmas or a birthday. It can be a dangerous game to play at times – how do you know when a girl is in love with Barbie games and when she’s outgrown them? Regardless, I love the Barbie heads for girls at any age – what’s better than mindless fun styling hair anyhow?

Christmas is fast approaching and I’ve been a bit surprised by how few pages of the toy catalogs seem to be dedicated to Barbie games. Normally, you’d expect to see pages and pages of Barbies all lined out across the page in a variety of outfits and styles,. There are Barbie games for major movies. There are Barbie dolls with mermaid tails and wings like butterflies. Barbie games include any number of accessories as well, and normally I can spend quite a bit of time looking over the options to see what’s available this year.

For whatever reason, I haven’t had the same reaction this year to the Barbie games. Maybe there’s just not as much in the catalogs, but really I think it’s more than that. I’d like to see a new tactic for the Barbie games. How about some totally new careers? Or perhaps a new boyfriend? Let’s really shake things up with Barbie games in 2012. The Christmas catalogs are starting to look a wee bit stale, and Barbie games should never be stale.

I’ll admit that I’ve always wanted to play Barbie games for Halloween. I’d love nothing more than slipping on a pretty gown and some high heels to be my very own version of a Barbie doll. Granted, the dress might fit me just a bit differently than it would a real Barbie doll, but that’s something we can fix at least by taking advantage of some padding in certain spots. A big blonde wig would be the final element I needed to really make the costume pop. The long, lustrous locks of blonde would set off the look perfectly. I could walk down the street, showing off my Barbie self, and people from blocks away would be able to appreciate just how great my costume is thanks to the brilliant platinum hair and enhanced figure.

I went searching for a new Barbie game the other day for a birthday present. Normally I love looking through the aisles of Barbie dolls to find just the right one to give as a gift, and there were plenty there to choose from, but I’ll admit I’m a bit disappointed in some of the newer Barbie games in the list. Barbie has always been a hit for birthday parties, but I didn’t see the fun fashions and bright colors that I usually look for in the newest Barbie collection.

The new line of Barbie Basics doesn’t make a lot of sense to me. I get it that they are supposed to look like basic Barbies who might be on the runway, but that’s not the point of real Barbie Games. The Barbie games are really about fun fashions and beautiful gowns. You’re supposed to make believe with the Barbie outfits and games and find new ways to wear the clothing. There isn’t much you can do with a pair of jeans and a tank top. Frankly I was unimpressed. Hopefully they dress up the new Barbie games soon.

I’m waiting not very patiently to find a great sale on Barbie games. There have been so many sales lately featuring my favorite toys, but I haven’t managed to stumble on any of the Barbie games. I’ve heard the funniest stories lately about the hair on Barbie dolls. When you play Barbie games, one of the first things you’re likely to do is fix Barbie’s hair. My sister recently imposed a new budget on us for Christmas presents. I’m heading to a birthday party next weekend and I have another one the week that follows. I was impressed recently to see a large box of all of the princesses little girls play with being sold in a set. There were at least six, maybe even seven princess Barbie games in a single box – all lined up and named according to the popular children’s movie they were from. I’m having a hard time giving Barbie games as gifts these days. It’s a strange phenomenon really, but it has less to do with the Barbie games and more to do with the girls I’d be giving the gifts to. There used to be a toy store inside the mall. When I was younger, I’d walk around the mall with my friends looking in the various stores for ways to spend my measly allowance. I like to watch my younger sister come home from school. I have two boys who simply aren’t interested in Barbies. With those boys, I’ll never have a chance to accumulate Barbie games. I had a conversation with a friend today that brought back some serious memories for me. It’s funny how the generations overlap a bit when it comes to classic toys like Barbie games. Am I the only one interested to see what comes of the Barbie and Ken relationship in Toy Story 3? I saw a better preview for the new movie today and it looks like Barbie games will be definitely playing a part in the story line. Of course we all remember Barbie from the second toy story when she joined the cast, but now that the toys are older and wiser, Barbie finally gets to meet Ken.

In the first round of previews for the new film, it looks like everything is rosy between Barbie and Ken. They flirt, there’s a dream sequence part and they compliment leg warmers and ascots. But today I saw something a bit different. Apparently Ken isn’t a good guy in the movie. He appears to be one of the major players in a poker ring and in trying to harm Andy’s toys. At one point it even showed Barbie attacking Ken by yanking off the once celebrated ascot. It goes without saying (but I’ll say it anyhow),this is going to be a fun flick this summer.

The Barbie games that date back to the past are the most interesting Barbie games I’ve seen of late. I was recently walking down the toy aisle and saw some Barbie games that actually made me stop and pay attention. I saw the greatest Barbie games ever today. I was shopping for some toys (birthday parties, you know) and saw a large display of New Moon Barbie dolls. The dolls were pretty careful replicas of the characters from the movies Twilight and New Moon. Edward was even intensely pale, just like in the movies. If I’d had the extra cast at the time, I would have snapped up the three dolls and added them to a Barbie collection.

But without an extra $60, I had to go off and leave the new Barbie games in the store, but I was certainly impressed. Jacob, I think was the most impressive in the movie and in the Barbie box. He was wearing his simple blue jean shorts and even was sporting the correct tribal tattoo on his shoulder – just like in the movie. Jacob was bronzed, had shorn hair and a pretty impressive figure. His face even looked like a real Jacob – not a Ken doll redone. Edward and Bella were the same way but with far paler skin and builds that weren’t quite as impressive.

The Barbie games have definitely added a bit of glam to an otherwise basic fashion doll kingdom. There is something about the Barbie games out there that always seem to bring out the child in me. I fee like a little girl again when I play the Barbie games either online or off. Barbie has spent a lot of time updating its line of Barbie games to introduce new games that resonate with kids today. These games are a bit different than the ones just a decade ago. Mattel, the company that produces Barbie games, did a bold thing in China. It opened a huge flagship store for Barbie games in the country targeting young professional women. The store has Barbie fashion dolls, of course, but there are fashion lines by Barbie and make up lines as well. There is even a Barbie bar in the store selling special adult beverages in a special Barbie line.

Unfortunately, the store isn’t doing very well just yet. Industry analysts have commented that the store has trouble on two counts. One, the Barbie games and fashion targeted at the young professional women is too sexy – not the cutesy little outfits these women prefer. Another failing is the location of the store. By having a separate storefront, Barbie games aren’t getting much foot traffic. It would have been far better for the Barbie games to be sold in a giant flagship store inside a mall where more Chinese women and girls would walk past and be enticed to comes inside. Some of my fondest memories of toys growing up were related to Barbie games. My two sisters and I would settle down with the Barbies and play all kinds of games that weren’t just about fashion. I’ll admit that I love Barbie dolls and how glamorous they can look in their pretty dresses and designer outfits. I also like the Barbies that have a purpose such as the veterinarian Barbie, the pilot Barbie and the doctor Barbie. The whole idea is appealing to me on a girly level, and one of these days I’m going to break down and actually start collecting the dolls to display in my office or around the house. I do think they would need to be displayed however. The one Barbie I kept from my youth experienced total hair loss after being stored in a hot attic. It was a shame, really.

I just read a bit about a woman in New York who was wandering in her apartment and discovered her daughter’s old bag of Barbie games in the closet. Living in a first floor apartment building, she decided to use those Barbie games as part of her Christmas decorations. She created a window display of the Barbies dressed up in their holiday finest to show in her window.

Over the year, the displays have gotten more elaborate with ice skating ponds and wedding scenes being created from items she has on hand or has purchased throughout the year. The displays in her windows have become a Christmas time novelty. This year, she started the display in early December with a wedding ceremony for Barbie and Ken complete with guests and special flooring. About midmonth, she transformed the celebration to be the reception of the wedding with Ken playing a Grand Piano and plenty of guests.

I love Barbie games. I have always loved them and like to think that I always will. Of course, not all Barbie games are created equally. Some of the games are much more intense than others and there is a huge variety of ways to play the games. Here are a few of my favorites.

The best part about Barbie games are the sheer number of fun accessories you can have for the games. I went to the store with the intent of finding various Barbie games for a niece and discovered just how many options there are for digging into the Barbie dolls and accessories. A few of my personal favorites are wrapped under the tree waiting for that side of the family to get together for the holidays.

Barbie Cars – I think Barbie invented the concept of the car for a fashion doll, and she seems to always do it right. I especially love the Volkswagen car that you can put Barbie in. I’m also a fan of the purple convertible just because it looks like so much fun to drive.

I hate the idea of growing up. Growing up seems to say I must move away from childish things, and those, of course, include my Barbie games collection. Personally I love Barbie. I always have. Barbie games were a lot of fun in my youth and they were a great bonding experience between my sisters and I. But as we grew up, Barbie left her dream house less and less and the Barbie Corvette of old was a bit neglected.

But growing up doesn’t mean I can’t play Barbie games at all. It just means I don’t get to spend hours on the floor every day of summer dress and undressing plastic dolls. Instead, I’ve moved on to the grown-up version of playing Barbie games – collecting them.

For the most part, I leave my collected Barbie games in the box to keep them pretty and perfect, but sometimes I’ll open a box and sit the Barbies along the special shelf over my desk. It might seem childish to the die-hards out there, but having a row of eternally happy fashionistas is simply fun and that brings a bit of joy to life.

I noticed recently that the Barbie games seem to be reaching out from their normal position of blonde perfection. There are new series of dolls that have darker skin types and a bit more personality. Of course, I love Barbie games and even if it is stereotypical and cheesy, I find myself picturing myself twirling in those Barbie ball gowns from time to time.

After all, Barbie was one of the first and definitely the most lasting cultural icon. Little girls want to look like Barbie, they want to dress like Barbie and they want to be Barbie. Personally I remember wanting Barbie’s car and horse, but I digress.

The Barbie games of our youth reflected society’s position on beauty for the most part. Barbie has released a new black Barbie game. The African-American Barbie dolls have three different versions all with different skin tones. There are light skinned Barbie games and dark skinned Barbie games and one in between. While many African Americans are satisfied with the new dolls and even excited that they are present on the market, there are still some concerns about the new Barbies. In particular, the black Barbie games still have long straight hair.

While there are some African Americans who have long straight hair, the complaint has been that the images presented by the new black Barbies is one of a regular Barbie with darker skin tone and hair. The African-American community would be more satisfied if the dolls had more authentic hair with perhaps braids, shorter styles or an Afro. But overall, it’s definitely a positive thing that the Barbies games are moving into more ethnic directions. I’m glad that the dolls are looking more like true ethnic beauties. Now, if only Barbie would embrace the other cultures present in our societies to be inclusive of everyone.

Barbie games have the appeal of something for a good girl. Barbie is a princess more times than not and she appears to be a lovely image with her blonde hair and youthful fashions. But I’m of a mind that Barbie games are not just for the good girls among us. In fact, I think it is the “bad” girls that need Barbie games the worst. After all, Barbie games are a great way to relax at the end of a hard day.
