There is something about Barbie games that seems to shout out, “Romance!” to me. Maybe it’s the princess gowns that you always see Barbie wearing, or perhaps it’s the fact that she is always dressed up to impress – with Ken or Derek hanging around on the sidelines waiting to be given the green light. But regardless, while many might think of Barbie games as simply an opportunity to play with fashion and style, there is more to it than that.

Barbie games are simple to understand. If they weren't, the Barbie games wouldn't be a favorite of little girls for more than fifty years now. With the classic Barbie dolls, girls can get the dolls dressed up in their favorite fashions and styles. They can move the dolls around the giant Barbie dream house and drive her around in the pretty pink car. But there is much more to do with Barbie games that doesn’t involve quite so much in the way of large plastic stuff.

In a Barbie game, the doll stands at the ready in some basic underclothes. The rest of Barbie’s clothing is off to the side, and you simple drag and drop the items you’d like Barbie to wear onto her body. The online Barbie games are essentially a virtual paper doll, and dressing up Barbie this way is not only easier than the classic dolls, but there is a much greater variety as well.

The Top Three Barbie Games

Barbie games are great fun, and as I’ve mentioned before there are too many to truly pick a top three. But because it’s fun to try, I shall.

Barbie’s Horse
Personally, I’ve always found that Barbie and her horse made for hours of fun. I like to build stables out of my brother’s blocks and use toilet paper to make streams and roads to gallop down or leap across. There are just too many stories that can play out on horseback to not enjoy the horse.

Barbie’s House
I have a large Barbie dream house of one kind or another, and my friends love to come over and bring their Barbies. When they come, we get everyone dressed up and have a huge party at the house complete with music and as many guy dolls as we can find.

Barbie’s Car
I like to drive Barbie around. Having a car in the Barbie collection means you can take Barbie on the road and let her see the sights. Plus you can have terrific break-up scenes with Ken where Barbie slams the door and drives away.

The Best Barbie Accessories

Like most girls, I have a thing for Barbie games. I might not have played with my Barbies in a few years, but I have strong opinions on what the next generation of Barbie lovers need to have in their Barbie arsenal. Of course, at times I’m thwarted by the changing of time – some items just aren’t available anymore. But as far as I’m concerned, these are the best Barbie Accessories of all time.

Barbie Dress House
You have to have the house, and the best one every came complete with an elevator. There was no furniture, however, but perhaps that was sold separately.

Barbie Corvette
The Beetle is cute, but the Corvette was true Barbie style. I liked that it wasn’t pink, too. There is such a thing as too much pink.

Barbie’s Camper
I’m still not sure why Barbie had a camper, but it was great, especially when pulled behind the Barbie 4x4.

The Best Barbie Games to Have

I’m of the mind that the Barbie accessories are what make the Barbie games the best in the world. Granted, I like the games online, but when it comes down to it, sitting on the floor next to Barbie’s dream house is a whole other ball of wax. Here are my picks for the best Barbie Games to have:

The Princess Barbie – she goes by many different names, but I feel it is important to have at least one Barbie who looks like a princess in a big, poofy princess ball gown. It’s the closest we’ll ever be to royalty.

The Car – Barbie needs to get around, and a fast car is the best choice. You can go for the cute car, or my personal favorite, the sports car. After all, the dream girl should have the dream car.

The House – Barbie’s dream house is the stuff of legends. Well, not really, but it is really fun. Move your Barbies around the house and be sure to stock up on the available furniture.

The Horse – Every girl needs a horse and Barbie is no exception. I only wonder why they left the Barbie Dream Stable off the Barbie Dream House!

Your Favorite Barbie Games Accessories

Barbie games just wouldn’t be the same without the Barbie accessories. There are so many Barbie accessories, it’s hard to pick just a few to be favorites, but it’s easy to pick out a few that definitely seem to get a bit more play time than others.

Barbie’s Horse
I’ll admit that I’m a bit of a horse girl, so when Barbie has a horse option, she’ll definitely take it. My horse that came with Barbie has done all kinds of things. She’s taken Barbie all over the world. She’s pulled carriages, she’s cleared roads, and she allows herself to be ridden all over the living room rug.

Barbie’s Convertible
I’ll admit that I’m not partial to the volkswagon coupe when my Barbie can tool about town in a stylish and fast convertible. Sure it’s kind of a purple color, but that stylish convertible is just the thing for taking another plastic friend out on the town..

Barbie Dream House
A girl’s got to live somewhere, and for Barbie, it’s inside the dream house, of course. The house isn’t heavy on furniture, but that never stopped me from making some of my own. Anything to make that house a home.

Barbie’s Birthday Party

You might have had a Barbie theme at your own birthday party, but surely you’ve noticed that no matter how many times Barbie shows up at your birthday party and those of your friends, nobody ever take the time to plan Barbie’s birthday party.

If you love Barbie games, prepare Barbie’s birthday party is one of the best versions around. Not only do you get to decorate and pick out a cake for guests, you also get to invite all of your friends and their Barbie dolls. Create Barbie’s House

It would seem that Barbie no longer just has her dream house. Now, you get to create Barbie’s house for her. The Barbie My House opens up a whole new realm of Barbie games. You’re able to design her house and arrange the rooms any way you want simply by moving some of the flexible walls and furniture.

Of course, if you aren’t lucky enough to have any formal house for your baby, you can still create your very own Barbie house.

Grab a large cardboard box of some kind – it can be a diaper box, a packing box, or even a large cereal box. Cut off the flaps at the top of the box leaving the box wide open. Turn the box on its side to create the basic house.

Now, to create walls and possibly two stories (if your box is tall enough) cut a slit in the center of the flaps you removed. The cut should be from the side to the middle of the flap. Do this on another flap that fits the other direction of the box. Put the two together overlapping the cuts to keep them in place. Put the cross you’ve made into the box and your new Barbie house suddenly has four rooms.

You can now decorate the rooms as you please!
