Today we play a vast number of Barbie games online, but if Barbie is really fifty years old, what were Barbie games like decades ago?

The old fashioned Barbie games were much simpler than our games today. They also required more imagination and fewer Barbie accessories. For example, today you most likely have some sort of Barbie automobile in your large Barbie stash, but no such thing existed for many years after Barbie was created.

So rather than driving her cute little convertible around town, Barbie had to either walk or you would have had to create her a car from something else – a good box and crayons come to mind. Cars weren’t the only thing that required a bit of creativity, though.

Barbie Clothes
Back in the days of our parents, Barbie didn’t have many clothes, but that was okay. Little girls were taught to sew and one of the first things they created were clothes for their dolls – including Barbie dolls. Sewing machines and shears were all it took to turn a swatch of left over fabric into a house dress or formal outfit worthy of Barbie today.
