The most long lasting Barbie game, a Barbie collection is simply a stockpile of Barbies. How serious you want to be about collecting your Barbies is up to you. Some girls start by collecting the Holiday Barbies that are released every year. These dolls are expensive and dressed in some serious finery. They aren’t really meant to be played with, but are truly for collecting. Over time, these serious collectors buy more Barbies and keep them in the box to preserve their authenticity.

The less serious collector finds Barbies that she likes and doesn’t hesitate to play and enjoy her dolls. Most Barbies are reasonably priced, so you can afford one every so often. Add the doll and her clothes to your collection and enjoy her. When you tire of actually playing with your dolls, you can continue to purchase dolls that are interesting to you knowing full well that someday those dolls will be interesting to your daughter as well.
