3 Greatest Things About Barbie Games

I love Barbie games. I have always loved them and like to think that I always will. Of course, not all Barbie games are created equally. Some of the games are much more intense than others and there is a huge variety of ways to play the games. Here are a few of my favorites.

Barbie Games and Dress Up – I love to sit down on the computer and dress up the Barbie dolls. Being able to put their little clothes on without having to pull them on and off makes things so much easier on me.

Barbie Games and Action – There are a few action Barbie games online, and I love these little Flash games. I like to play the games where Barbie explores or drives online as well.

Barbie Games and Dolls – Best of all, I love the Barbie dolls. Fifty years ago, the world was introduced to Barbies and I don’t think anything has impacted us as much as Barbies have in respect to toys. Best of all, not much has changed on the Barbies making them just as fun to play with today as they were a generation ago.

Barbie Games And Accessories

The best part about Barbie games are the sheer number of fun accessories you can have for the games. I went to the store with the intent of finding various Barbie games for a niece and discovered just how many options there are for digging into the Barbie dolls and accessories. A few of my personal favorites are wrapped under the tree waiting for that side of the family to get together for the holidays.

Barbie Cars – I think Barbie invented the concept of the car for a fashion doll, and she seems to always do it right. I especially love the Volkswagen car that you can put Barbie in. I’m also a fan of the purple convertible just because it looks like so much fun to drive.

Barbie Houses – I remember having a Barbie house in my youth, and if anything, the Barbie houses have gotten even better as the years have gone by. The best Barbie houses now have rooms full of furniture to put inside. I don’t recall having furniture for my Barbie Dream house, but that might just be something that was missing on my end of the deal.

Barbie Games and Winter

When it’s cold outside, my Barbie games seem to be played much more. Cold weather keeps me inside, although I do enjoy being outside as much as I can stand it. Barbie dolls pick up the slack for me, however, when I come in with pink cheeks and watering eyes. Pulling out Barbie games is a great way to spend a wet winter day – and if you’re lucky enough to have the holiday Barbie dolls, you can spend hours playing with those gorgeous dresses and other collectibles.

Another option is to settle down on the computer to play Barbie games on the computer. Online Barbie games have much more flexibility than their offline counterparts. When you play Barbie games online, you’re able to select a Barbie doll to use and then dress her accordingly. Pull clothing together for Barbie online and if you change your mind, simply move it off of the screen and pick something else. There is no wrestling to put the tiny clothing on the dolls – it’s a drag and drop kind of thing.

Christmas Barbie Games

Every Christmas, I look to see the newest holiday Barbie. I’m not a collector, but I’m thinking about starting just to collect the beautiful dolls that they present every year. The Barbie games available for the Christmas season are varied and fun, with games online and off. The online Barbie games let you dress Barbie for all sorts of special Christmas events. From parties and sleigh rides to Christmas morning under the tree, you get to choose the sorts of things that Barbie wears for all the special events. Dress her for one and then start again and get her dressed for the next.

Offline, there are dozens of new Barbie dolls and styles that are released around this time of year as we prepare for the holidays. Choosing a new Barbie doll for a friend or helping pick one out in the store that you’d like to have this holiday season is a fun way to shop, knowing that you’ll be getting exactly what you want and enjoying every moment of playing with the new doll on Christmas morning.

Barbie Games and Growing Up

I hate the idea of growing up. Growing up seems to say I must move away from childish things, and those, of course, include my Barbie games collection. Personally I love Barbie. I always have. Barbie games were a lot of fun in my youth and they were a great bonding experience between my sisters and I. But as we grew up, Barbie left her dream house less and less and the Barbie Corvette of old was a bit neglected.

But growing up doesn’t mean I can’t play Barbie games at all. It just means I don’t get to spend hours on the floor every day of summer dress and undressing plastic dolls. Instead, I’ve moved on to the grown-up version of playing Barbie games – collecting them.

For the most part, I leave my collected Barbie games in the box to keep them pretty and perfect, but sometimes I’ll open a box and sit the Barbies along the special shelf over my desk. It might seem childish to the die-hards out there, but having a row of eternally happy fashionistas is simply fun and that brings a bit of joy to life.

Barbie Games Reach Out

I noticed recently that the Barbie games seem to be reaching out from their normal position of blonde perfection. There are new series of dolls that have darker skin types and a bit more personality. Of course, I love Barbie games and even if it is stereotypical and cheesy, I find myself picturing myself twirling in those Barbie ball gowns from time to time.

After all, Barbie was one of the first and definitely the most lasting cultural icon. Little girls want to look like Barbie, they want to dress like Barbie and they want to be Barbie. Personally I remember wanting Barbie’s car and horse, but I digress.

The Barbie games of our youth reflected society’s position on beauty for the most part. I, for one, am thrilled to see that society is reaching out to embrace alternative forms of beauty and this level of comfort is evident through the wider and more varied selection of Barbie games. If I could, I’d buy a Barbie of every color, just for posterity.

The New Ethnic Barbie Games

Barbie has released a new black Barbie game. The African-American Barbie dolls have three different versions all with different skin tones. There are light skinned Barbie games and dark skinned Barbie games and one in between. While many African Americans are satisfied with the new dolls and even excited that they are present on the market, there are still some concerns about the new Barbies. In particular, the black Barbie games still have long straight hair.

While there are some African Americans who have long straight hair, the complaint has been that the images presented by the new black Barbies is one of a regular Barbie with darker skin tone and hair. The African-American community would be more satisfied if the dolls had more authentic hair with perhaps braids, shorter styles or an Afro. But overall, it’s definitely a positive thing that the Barbies games are moving into more ethnic directions. I’m glad that the dolls are looking more like true ethnic beauties. Now, if only Barbie would embrace the other cultures present in our societies to be inclusive of everyone.

Are Barbie Games Really For Good Girls?

Barbie games have the appeal of something for a good girl. Barbie is a princess more times than not and she appears to be a lovely image with her blonde hair and youthful fashions. But I’m of a mind that Barbie games are not just for the good girls among us. In fact, I think it is the “bad” girls that need Barbie games the worst. After all, Barbie games are a great way to relax at the end of a hard day.

Bad girls are often not as bad as they would like others to think. They might act tough, but on the inside they are craving a bit of peaceful solitude and positive feedback. After all, it can’t be fun to have to act like a tough cookie all the time around others. I’d like to think that many of those tough girls are coming home at the end of the day and hopping right online to play a few Barbie games to relax after their hard days of looking like they are ready to kick someone’s butt at any moment.

3 Reasons Barbie Games Last Forever

Barbie games last forever. It’s a simple fact, but once you’ve started playing Barbie games, it’s hard to not get sucked into the world of plastic fashion.

Barbie games really do last forever. There is no denying Barbie is a plastic and rubber confection topped with blond hair. She could probably survive a holocaust of nuclear proportions perfectly intact. It’s a shame in a sense that our most popular doll is up there with Twinkies and cockroaches, but it’s reasonable to expect those Barbies tucked in the back of your closet to be there forever.

Barbie games are classics. If there were ever a true classic for girls everywhere, it’s the Barbie game. Playing the games lets generations of women come together and encourages fashion and make-believe play. Both of which are important to a young fashion diva’s development.

Barbie games are fun. If they were boring, they wouldn’t last. Of course, there is still algebra, but that’s apparently useful to someone. But Barbie would have gone the way of so many other toys that have come before it she didn’t have something to bring to the party. And perhaps that something is a shiny pink convertible, but then again, maybe not.

Barbie Games and Growing Up

For most girls, playing Barbie games is a rite of passage. Most girls get at least one Barbie when they are younger and they are able to start understanding a bit about fashion and really just having fun playing pretend. But in many ways, those same Barbie games are still very much with us as we continue to grow – a true testament to the power of the blonde Barbie doll.

Barbie games might be lost to our first decade on the planet, but there is always a bit of affection for the dolls that we loved so much growing up. You see the pink aisle in the store and turn your cart without even realizing what you’re doing or you get a small thrill when a niece opens the big pink box you put under the Christmas tree.

Barbie games are there with us every step of the way. Play them in your youth using the actual dolls, and then join countless others who have moved online to continue playing various forms of Barbie games through the internet. These games allow you a chance to revisit your youthful pastimes without having to go and dig out the giant box of Barbie dolls in the back of the garage.

The Case for Barbie Games

Barbie games are famous throughout the world. If that’s not enough to convince you to at least try a few, however, there are many other solid attributes of the Barbie games. Barbie games can be found online and off. The classic Barbie doll is one option, but online is an entire new universe of Barbie game options including dress up games and other Barbie flash games.

Barbie games let your mind free. There are some games that make you work in a certain way to win. Barbie games don’t often have a winner or loser. There are simply competitors. Work with your Barbie games to design terrific looks and fashionable outfits. Create these outfits by playing with Barbie clothing offline, or with the many versions of the dress up games online.

Online Barbie dress up games are a nice way to exercise creativity. When you play Barbie games online, you start with a doll base. Add your favorite clothing from the exhaustive list of possibilities and then get to work on accessories and make-up. At the end of the game you have a Barbie doll dressed up online in the latest fashions and you can thank yourself for designing something so fabulous.

Barbie Games and the Future

Barbie has made it 50 years, but the future remains uncertain for the fashion doll. In the last five or six years, Barbie gave up half of the fashion doll marketplace to the young upstarts, the Bratz dolls. A lengthy trial followed, and now the Bratz are part of Mattel again. But where does that leave Barbie?

Obviously she’s not perfect if half of her previous fans bought Bratz dolls instead. Yet almost every young girl in the country has had a Barbie doll.

Barbie games are universally recognized. The Barbie games are focused on fashion, but generally fashion that’s a bit more creative than you’d find in the every day. This makes the dolls and their dress up games more entertaining for most fans of Barbie games. Being able to dress up a princess or a mermaid appeals to us on a fantasy level.

But sometimes we want to play more realistic fashion games and this is where Barbie still has some growing to do. Bratz games are realistic. Barbie games are not. Perhaps Barbie will learn a bit from her competition.

Barbie Games and Girls

Girls love Barbie games. They always have it would seem. Fifty years ago, the founder of Barbie games created the fashion doll to give girls something to play with besides baby dolls. The success rate was almost instantaneous. Today Barbie games are hugely popular still both through toy stores and online.

Barbie games are almost self-sustaining. They have become such a part of our culture, girls need never walk down a pink aisle or see a single Barbie commercial to know who and what Barbie is. Every girl will likely receive a Barbie as a present at some point, and Barbie games might very well stay with her throughout the rest of her life.

Playing Barbie games involves going online with fashionable friends to dress up Barbie dolls. Playing dress up games online with Barbie is common and a game enjoyed by girls around the world. It’s almost become a right of passage.

Barbie Games Are Here to Stay

Despite being crowded out of the market by the offending Bratz games, Barbie games have rallied and are definitely here to stay. Head online and you’ll find any number of Barbie games spread over a world’s worth of website. There are Barbie games in every language and that is certainly part of the fun.

Barbie has a different meaning to different countries. Here she is simply a part of our culture. She is someone with us through out childhood and will be there for our children as well. In other countries, she is an icon worthy of collecting. In still others she is illegal, but girls still secretly find their ways to her various websites and games.

Barbie games are a good way to explore fashion and try out new things. Playing Barbie games gives you the opportunity to learn about the various styles that are both classic and current. Barbie games are simply a way to learn about a huge portion of our culture.

Barbie Games as the Perfect Gift

I love little girls – little sisters, nieces, cousins, whatever. When there is a little girl in the mix, Barbie games are the perfect present. Sharing Barbie games with little ones is as simple as buying her first Barbie game. There are so many different options available for Barbie games, however, that it can be a challenge.

Princess and Mermaid Barbie games are great for girls under the age of five. These games are fantasy based and represent the sorts of things that girls this age would enjoy being. Think of the princess and mermaid costumes the girls have to dress up in. Having Barbies to dress up in long flowing gowns and sea shell bras fits naturally into this level of play.

Older girls enjoy Barbies that have a bit more of a purpose to them. Girls up to eight or nine can enjoy Barbies that include campers, cars, houses, horses and occupations. By seven or eight, the creative mind is truly at work and the Barbies are a fun way to play with friends in interesting new ways.

Barbie Games and Change

I think that Barbie games are due for a change. I love Barbie games now and in the past, and I think it was great when the anniversary dolls were released so that we can see just how far Barbie has (or hasn’t) come in fifty years. But today, our focus is on the true diversity of our nation and at least personally, I feel that Barbie doesn’t truly reflect the differences.

There are obviously Barbie dolls of color. The trouble is they are obviously Barbie dolls who happen to have a bit of extra dye in their plastic skin. Outside of the darker tan and dark, long, flowing hair, the Barbie doll looks exactly the same. The face is almost identical between dolls.

Granted this is also true of mermaid Barbies and Barbies with purple hair, but maybe it’s time for Barbie to branch out from the single face she normally has. Would it be so terrible for the different Barbies to have a different face? Perhaps one that is more reflective of the culture they are designed to represent? If Mattel needs inspiration, they can look to their newest line of products, the Bratz games. Those dolls are different and look great for it.

Barbie Games are Featured in the Films

I love it when Barbie games are featured in films. My personal favorite Barbie episodes are in the Toy Story movies. There is a scene in Toy Story 2 that includes an entire pink aisle full of Barbies in their boxes. And it would seem that both Barbie and Ken will be making a comeback in Toy Story 3.

It’s been years since a new Toy Story movie was released and I, for one, am excited to see it. I love how clever those movies are and how nicely they blend toys from today and yesterday. I like seeing the classics while still getting a nice dose of today’s humor.

The Toy Story 3 movie has been the source of intrigue for some time, though. It’s not slated to be released until next summer, but already there is plenty of talk about it and the previews make it look pretty funny. It will be fun to see how Barbie and this time her guy, Ken, will do in the new film.

Barbie Games of Every Color

Easily one of the nicest things about Barbie is that there are Barbie games in every color. Of course, you have to look past the fact that there can only be so many girls labeled as Barbie, but for every blonde bombshell Barbie doll produced, there is one who doesn’t fit the blond mold. She might have pink hair and a mermaid tale. Or bronze skin and darker hair, but regardless of color and tail, it’s nice to see that such as classic doll has so many different varieties.

Indeed, I think it’s perfect that there are purple and pink Barbies in with the blacks and whites. Once upon a time it seems like you could find other ethnicities, but perhaps not. The variety of colors, both real and in the imaginations of young girls everywhere help to cement the teaching that color truly doesn’t matter in the grand scheme of things. We all look different, even within our own ethnicity and that doesn’t change a thing about who we are. Our culture can shape us, but it doesn’t define us. And the same seems to be true, at least part of the time, for Barbie games.

I Thought I’d Outgrown Barbie Games

There was a time that I considered myself much too grown up for Barbie games. I didn’t want to play with dolls anymore and I didn’t want to waste valuable socializing time even playing Barbie games online. I thought I was above such things. I was wrong.

Barbie games are hugely popular with very good reason. It’s hard to get away from something that has taken the entire world by storm. I played Barbie games as a kid and so did just about every other young girl in the world. I played them online and millions of other girls did, too. So now that I’m a bit older, I realize that I can stop playing the Barbie games for awhile, but I’ll never be truly too old for them.

Barbie games keep coming back around. I outgrew them (I thought.) Then I started babysitting and immediately realized how useful it is to have a couple of new Barbies in a backpack ready to go. I dug out my old Barbies for my babysitting charges. I then usually realize that Barbie games are something you really never outgrow.

Playing Barbie Games My Way

As much as I love the pretty Barbie dolls that arrive in the pretty pink boxes, I think it’s important to express my individuality by playing Barbie games in my very own special way. I like to play a bit rougher with my Barbie games than other girls might, but so far the blonde bombshell has been up to the challenge. My Barbies have seen the world and are wiser for it.

When I was younger, I took my Barbie games with me everywhere. Barbie got to ride inside suitcases. She rode on the seat of the car next to me. She survived over a hundred degrees inside a locked car – although her head was a bit extra squishy for a while after that. I think at one time Barbie might have even been a victim of car sickness, and I mean my car sickness.

But Barbie survived all of this with flying colors. She had only a handful of outfits to wear and none of her little plastic friends along for the ride, but she kept me company. We played together in the back seat and I spent hours learning to braid her hair. Barbie games for me were a right of passage more than just a way to pass the hours – although she did both well.

Barbie Games and Growing Up

I’m often at a mix emotionally about growing up. There are certainly things I’d love to do as a grown-up that I can’t do now, but then I think about giving up the best things about childhood and I feel like crying. There are so many things that are great about being a kid. I love not having bills to pay and I love the freedom to do nothing on the weekends if I want to. If I were to pick something that makes it clear, I find Barbie games to be particularly nice. They symbolize everything I love about not growing up.

I can play Barbie games day or night. I don’t have to worry about getting up for a job or even getting up for school in the summer. I can invite friends over and do nothing except play Barbie games for hours on end. When I’m feeling sentimental about childhood, I can open my box of Barbie dolls and play Barbie games with those. Sit on my twin-sized bed and dress and undress Barbies in all of their pretty, cute clothes. It’s a simple life, and truly one that I love.

Barbie Games and Pink

I’m sure I’m not the only one, but I’ve often struggled with the idea of Barbie always being in pink. I understand that Barbie is for girls and that girls are represented by pink. I also understand that pink is a pretty color. I’m not arguing either point. My concern is that pink is shown at an almost unrealistic level. I mean – who drives a pink corvette anyhow?

Don’t get me wrong – I love pink. I wear a bit of pink from time to time and at one point, I even considered dying my hair pink just to say I did it. But when it comes to my Barbie games I like a bit of color variety. Perhaps a green outfit or maybe even a blue. Barbie can come wrapped in a big purple box and the “pink aisle” in the toy store can be strewn with many different colors instead of the single, rather obvious shade of pink. Will it happen? Nope. Pink is as much a part of Barbie as her long blonde hair.

Is There Anything Wrong with Barbie Games?

You might have heard a bit about Bratz games from time to time, but you don’t often hear much about Barbie games. Are Barbie games wrong on any level? It depends on who you’re asking, of course.

Barbie Games are Provocative
It used to be that parents complained a bit because Barbie games seemed a bit too edgy for most. They didn’t like the idea of a big busted blonde bombshell sitting in their child’s toy box ready to be dressed and undressed. Fortunately, they got over it and now Barbie games are considered quite tame by comparison to many other dress up games already mentioned above.

Barbie Games Create False Perceptions
There is also the claim that Barbie games create false perceptions of reality for little girls. Never mind that there are family members, friends, teachers and everyone else around them who look like real people, these parents were concerned that Barbie would create self esteem problems for children who didn’t look like the plastic doll. They worried that the children would want so badly to look like Barbie with her tiny waist and large bust they would harm themselves.

It would seem that Barbie is no longer the problem with false perceptions. Instead, Hollywood and virtually all celebrities are showing up with images far more appealing for young girls than Barbie. It is the real people who create a false perception of beauty – not a small plastic doll.

Barbie Games and Your Brain

When you think of Barbie games, you don’t normally consider them to be especially stimulating of the mind. However, every form of Barbie game is actually helpful in many brain processes. That’s not the mention that the Barbie games are just plain fun.

Barbie games help the mind in many ways. One of the most critical is through creativity,. When you play Barbie games, you’re using all forms of creativity, You’re putting together outfits online. You’re putting together ideas and scenarios for your Barbies to enjoy.

Barbie Games Are Forever

There are many forms of toys and entertainment that are losing speed thanks to the onset of video games and computerized versions of just about everything. However, baby toys and Barbies will always be around and will likely continue to get more popular than ever before. After all, Barbie games are forever.

Girls have always loved fashion. Some of the earliest toys found in archeological digs are dolls dressed lovingly in stitched clothing. Throughout generations, girls have sought dolls of one kind or another and creating clothing for the dolls became an industry. It was not until the fifties, however, that a woman realized girls don’t want to just dress up baby or toddler dolls. They want to play with a fashion doll who wears adult clothing.

Barbie was born and became immensely popular. She still is today and every new generation of girls turns to Barbie first as her fashionista friend. Later, she might also develop a love affair with the trendy Bratz dolls or small Polly Pockets, but princesses and pixies have Barbie’s position rather firmly locked up.

Conservative Barbie Games?

Ask any mother a generation ago and you’d have heard an earful about how Barbie is pushing the limits on decency and what is appropriate for young girls to play with. Today, however, Barbie is much closer to a conservative figure in fashion than she was even a decade ago.

Barbie might have once been a wild child with her tiny waist and large bra size, but today she’s womanly and dresses rather conservatively. The Bratz dolls have stolen the crown in the risqué and daring fashion doll department. The Bratz dolls arrived five years ago and immediately caused a stir with short skirts, pouty lips and teenage attitude.

Barbie games couldn’t compete with that look. After all, Skipper was as far removed from teen angst as you could possibly get. But Barbie has held solid in many regards. Girls who enjoy the beauty of fashion dolls still flock whole-heartedly to the pink aisles at the store. After all, there is much to be said for a classic beauty vesus teenage drama queens.

3 Reasons I Love Barbie Games

Barbie gets a bad rap sometimes from those that simply don’t understand her. But I, as a Barbie games lover, have plenty to say on the topic.

Barbie games are pure, simple fun. Playing games online can get complicated with multiple personalities and friends all trying to get in the same guilds or whatever. But Barbie games let you settle in with some popcorn, a drink and just enjoy yourself.

Barbie games let me play with creativity. I hate it when a game is decided before I even start to play. I don’t like following a predetermined path. I’d much rather exercise a bit of creativity as I create new outfits and a totally different style for my favorite Barbie games.

Barbie games can be social. If I feel like being social, I can do so easily with my Barbie games. I can create a design and send it off to a friend to enjoy. Or I can keep the designs to myself and not have to mess with other people when I feel like having a night in.

Rox My Sox – Barbie Games

What is it about Barbie games that makes me want to be a teen again? I love silly teen expressions and the funny things they say. Most of all, I love the innocence of being a teen and knowing that even the most stressful things in your life aren’t that big of a deal.

Of course, as a teen, those “stressful” things you know aren’t really that big of a deal can still be a huge ordeal as you navigate the tricky waters. It’s for this reason that I love Barbie games the most. Barbie is the symbol of what is good and right in the world. She’s pretty, she’s always happy and she has a great job and her choice of men.

When I finish growing up, I have every intention of becoming a Barbie. Of course I can’t trade in my human form for a bit-too-perfect plastic one, but I can make it so that I’m happy most of the time, have the company of good friends and enjoy every job I ever have. What could be better than that?

The Many Faces of Barbie Games

Barbie games have had many different faces over the years. Of course, Barbie has looked almost exactly the same, but her style and the fashion options available to Barbie have changed quite a bit.

The earliest Barbies were dressed simply in a swimsuit with her hair in a ponytail. Soon fashions followed and the Barbies that were released in the years that followed had the same trends as the decades they represented. The Sixties brought a bouffant Barbie. The Seventies had a Barbie with straight hair and a golden tan. The eighties had a roller skating Barbie and then came the many movie adaptations of Barbie.

But Barbie has had one dramatic change over the years that will likely be the longest lasting. Yes, she got a belly button, but more importantly, Barbie moved online. When Barbie games became an online fixture, Barbie was more readily available to girls and women everywhere and that was a tremendous boost to her image and popularity.

Barbie Games Need More Love

Barbie games have always been popular both in toy stores and online, but in recent years, the Barbie games have lost some of their ever expansive fan base. When the Bratz games appeared, the Barbie games began to suffer. But with the drama that’s followed the Bratz games, I firmly believe it’s time to show the Barbie games a bit more love.

Barbie games have always been wholesome and fashion forward. Mothers encouraged Barbie games simply because they had played them in their youth. Barbie might have an unrealistic figure, but she was independent, dressed well, and became a cultural icon. Bratz games can’t claim the same.

The Bratz games came on strong and stayed that way. The youthful, pouty faces and urban styles attracted many girls, but Barbie fought back. A lawsuit and much publicity later, the Bratz games are at risk, but Barbie is still going strong – just as she has for the last fifty years.

The Characteristics of Barbie Games

Barbie games are a great way to spend time online. Not only do they feature the same Barbie dolls you love to dress up at home, the online version of Barbie games includes hundreds of extra fashions and thousands of options regarding how to dress up the dolls.

Barbie games are wholesome. The typical Barbie game is a pure fashion game. The doll is dressed in clothing that a mother would approve of in most cases and the Barbie games use even more preppy and fun clothing in the games. In Barbie games you’re not likely to find mini skirts, revealing tops or thigh-high boots. You’re going to find the sorts of clothing you can wear to school or to work without complications.

Barbie games are fun. Barbie games are a great way to spend a rainy afternoon. Simply fire up the computer, settle down with some pillows and dress up your Barbie dolls in any shape or style you like. When you play Barbie games, you get the benefits of dressing up your real Barbie dolls, but with plenty more options for clothing and the added benefits of being able to throw clothing on and off at will without having to wrestle tiny plastic hands through sleeves.

Barbie Games Are On Top

In the world of fashion dolls, there is no secret that Barbie games have been under attack for some time. The chief competitor for Barbie games are the Bratz games that have become popular with a certain age group of girls. It used to be that Barbie games were alone in the fashion doll marketplace. But with the introduction of Bratz games about six years ago, the Barbie games have been losing a bit of ground.

But even with the uber hot and trendy Bratz dolls trying to steal Barbie’s thunder, Barbie is still on top. When you look at the reasons for Barbie’s continued success, even with such a popular competitor, you’ll soon discover that Barbie is a universal icon and that people from all over the globe love her for her good looks and appealing style.

Barbie’s style might be more conservative than her competitors, but for many girls playing fashion games, this style is perfectly suitable. The clothing Barbie wears and her many spin-offs are classic, stylish and fashionable without being over the top or unsetting. The best part of Barbie’s style is that she has so many evening gowns and formal looks. There isn’t a girl out there who can resist dressing up Barbie in a beautiful flowing gown.

3 Reasons Barbie Games Have Long Hair

I’ve always loved Barbie games, but I’ll admit that I’ve wondered over the years why there are no, or exceptionally few, Barbies ever made with short hair. Where are the contemporary or punk Barbies? Why do they all look like pageant contestants?

Barbie looks good with long hair. With her small features and large eyes, Barbie carries off her long mane of hair rather nicely. Not everyone can wear her hair to her backside, but Barbie can and does.

Barbie’s long hair offers more styling options. For those who love to do hair, you already realize that Barbie’s long hair gives you the change to braid it, put it up, or leave it down. Having long hair gives you options, and Barbie isn’t a girl to miss out on fashion options.

Barbie’s hair is well known the world over. If you show a picture of Barbie anywhere in the world with short hair, you might have a riot on your hands. Nobody would recognize her, or if they did, they would think you were some sort of sick-o for even suggesting Barbies should wear a shorn head.

My Experience with Barbie Games

My first memory of a Barbie doll dates back as early as my third birthday (I think.) It might have been my fourth now that I think about it. But regardless, I was young and the Barbies were my friends in a big way. Playing Barbie games with my two sisters is a pretty stand-out memory from my childhood, and when we played Barbie games, we all had different roles and items to our names.

My older sister got the horse and the convertible. It was a silver Corvette in those days. My younger sister got Skipper, the preteen Barbie doll and Ken, I believe. But I was the one who got the Barbie dream house. My Barbie house was large, had five rooms and an elevator. It was missing stairs, however. The dream house had a special place in my room, and when we moved, it moved with us.

I used to drag the house into the center of the room, pull out all of my Barbies and play happily for hours playing hostess at elaborate parties or getting Barbie ready for a hot date. I then had to borrow both Ken and his car from two different sisters to make this work, but usually Barbie was dressed so well, it was worth it.

Barbie Games and Magic

There is a lot of magic wrapped up in Barbie games. The toddler who gets her first Barbie or watches a Barbie movie for the first time gets wrapped up in the magic of fashion and even more powerful magic of creativity.

There truly is magic in imagination. Just think of all the things a girl can become when she’s not limited to certain costumes and outfits. Barbie games have always been good at creating a huge variety of costumes and dolls. I especially like the Barbie dolls that appear to be fairies, mermaids or the like.

The sheer magic of dressing up a doll is substantial, but the magical storylines of dressing up a mermaid and having her transform before your very eyes is pretty intense as well. The same is true for a fairy. Your regular Barbie might get in her pink car and go to work, but your fairy Barbie games are going to be more creative. In my mind, at least, the Barbie games that include some magic are also much more fun.

Barbie Games and Movies

There are many movies that seem to become Barbie dolls. I’m sure I could look it up and find the licensing agreements and such, but I’m not complaining. I like the idea of having a Barbie that is an exact replica of my favorite characters. The only complaint I might have about Barbies who appear to be characters is that they already have a built in story line.

For the girls without imaginations, they might think that the only way they can “play” with Gabriella, for example, would be to make her sing karaoke or put her in a high school musical. Barbie’s personality is wide open, but it would feel weird making Sandra D a mean girl or something when playing her character.

The guys are even worse. Ken is a total blank slate, but Barbie games with preformed Barbie men are challenging. Somehow, at least for me, it’s even more challenging to come up with a new personality or storyline for the guy in a movie than the girl. Although it could simple be that I need more practice. Maybe it’s time for some new Barbies.

Barbie Games Win – Hands Down

One thing that’s always amused me about Barbie is that her hands are permanently facing up. So even if she were in a contest with other girl games, Barbie wouldn’t win “hands down,” but I digress. I actually do think that Barbie stacks up rather nicely around the other girls games available. We’ve loved her for years and when she made the move the internet, we simply moved right along with her.

Barbie is one of the most iconic images known throughout the world. When she moved online, it was even easier than ever to enjoy the Barbie games and you could now play with your favorite doll without even getting out your dolls. Barbie games are around us all the time both online and off, and that is part of what makes them so powerful.

In the head-to-head competition between Barbie and Bratz games, I have to say that I still think Barbie comes out the classier player. Bratz games are cheated and ripped off- they have even proved it in court. The Bratz games are full of clothes I’m not sure I’d like my Barbie wearing. But I like the classy selection of gowns and other items that Barbie has available in her wardrobe.

Why You’ll Never Be Over Barbie Games

Barbies are about as classic as it gets for girl games, but when you play Barbie games online, you’re cementing your fate as a girl gamer. Barbie games have moved online and for years, we’ve been enjoying Barbie’s golden locks and stylish clothing options. Dress up Barbie online and share her with a friend or print her out for your own personal collection.

Barbie games have already lasted fifty years. There is no sign that the dolls will ever go away. Barbie is every girl’s best friend around the age of four or five when she begins her Barbie collection. Gifts and collectibles help the Barbie collection to grow and soon she has a full box or tote full of Barbie games. The games are truly classic and you can just as easily play Barbie games with your best friend as you would with your grandmother.

Barbie games seem to grow with us. Early Barbie games include gowns and princesses. Then we move into the favorite characters from movies we’ve enjoyed before completing the collection with the career oriented and imaginative Barbies. Finally, we reach a point where we head online to enjoy Barbie games.

Barbie Games Are Good for the Spirit

I’m a firm believer in the fact that playing games is good for the spirit. Barbie games are a great way to boost your mood, challenge your mind and enjoy your sense of adventure – all without even getting up from your chair. Start by exploring the internet to see what sorts of Barbie games are available online.

When you realize that there are flash Barbie games and dress up Barbie games, as well as many other kinds of virtual worlds and characters through the Barbie games concept, you’ll have more to do in a day than you might in a week playing traditional Barbie games. Personally, I believe having choices is good for the spirit and with hundreds, perhaps thousands of different game choices available, there is much to try online.

Not only is the sheer variety enough to pique your interest, there is also the fact that Barbie games are a bit challenging. They try your mind in relatively unusual ways. You get to dress up dolls in ways you might not have every tried before and suddenly you’re really working to get things exactly right. All of that work translates into a great deal of fun and a bit of reward when you finally get to enjoy your finished creation.

The Secret to Barbie Games

Barbie games are something even toddlers can play, and it would seem that there aren’t that many secrets to plastic and rubber dolls gallivanting around in designer clothing. But in fact, there are a few tricks to the trade when it comes to Barbie dolls and Barbie games.

The best Barbie games are online. The best Barbie games are found online. You might have fifteen or twenty different Barbie dolls, but you don’t really need them with so many great Barbie games available through the internet. There are hundreds, perhaps thousands of different Barbie games you can play online and the more you play, the better the games become.

There are more fashion choices in online Barbie games. If you’re a bit tired of the clothing you already have for your Barbie doll, but don’t want to invest or create more clothing? You can find plenty of options online. Visit a Barbie games website and prepare to be amazed at how many clothing options and different styles there are. You can even find styles of clothing you might not normally see in a pretty pink package. Goth Barbie anyone?

Summer Barbie Games

Barbie games are great any time of the year, but they are especially fun in the summer when it’s too hot outside to play outside every day. So rather than burning up in the heat, come back inside with your Barbie dolls to play a few Barbie games. If you haven’t played with your Barbie games in a few years, but that is no reason you can’t enjoy them this year.

Pull out your Barbie dolls and enjoy yourself like you did years ago. Dress up the Barbies, put them in their cars and drive them around. Bring out the Ken dolls and see what kind of romance you can still up between the dolls again. After all, rumor is Barbie and Ken are getting back together.

When you tire of your dolls, and this might take days depending on how creative you get and whether or not your friends join in the fun, play Barbie games online. There are hundreds of Barbie dress up games all over the internet and you can dress up the dolls online, save them for your various profiles and print them out. Challenge friends to a Barbie dress up contest to help make those hot summer days pass more quickly.

Three Ways to Improve Barbie Games

If I were given the opportunity to discuss Barbie games and Barbie dolls with the designers, I’d have a few thoughts for those individuals to work on. I love Barbie games, but even the best things need a bit of fixing from time to time. In the case of Barbie games, I have a few ideas.

Give Barbie normal feet. It drives me insane that Barbie is always en pointte. Why does she stand on her toes? I know it’s for her stiletto heels and all, but it seems like a solid pair of boots or sneaks wouldn’t be too terrible either.

Give Barbie more friends. Barbie has a few friends, but not nearly enough. There are so many other kinds of Barbies that it’s hard to find a set of friends to play with at one time.

Let Barbie have more fun. Barbie seems to be spending more and more time working these days. I like the Barbie that gets to have a birthday party, but I’d like it even more if she went back to school and simply enjoyed herself for a few days.

The Biggest Problems with Barbie Games

Barbie games aren’t always perfect. In fact, I’ve had some trouble over the years playing Barbie games simply because there are so many things that can go wrong. Here are some of the most common problems I’ve had over many years of play.

Barbie’s hair can’t be ironed. It seems simply enough – flat iron Barbie’s hair to give her a new, edgy look. Unfortunately Barbie’s hair is plastic and melts on a flat iron. Who knew?

Barbie loses her shoes. Those tiny little shoes seem to go missing as soon as you pull them out of the box. I’m reasonably sure I’ve actually thrown a few pairs away without ever even taking them out of the book to begin with. If her feet were larger, she might actually be able to keep her shoes on for longer than a few minutes.

Barbie’s house has minimal furniture. What fun is a dream house without furniture? Her house seems to be beautiful, but has very little in the way of furniture. What fun is that?

Barbie Games Last Forever

Barbie games are a fun way to spend time online and a great way to practice your fashion sense. However, many think that Barbie games only last for a certain amount of time. For example, many ten year olds are outgrowing their traditional box of Barbies in favor of other online activities. But when you consider the online Barbie games, the same rules do not necessarily apply.

While playing with Barbie dolls can be considered a bit juvinele, playing dress up games online is something even adults do. There is something soothing about picking out the perfect outfit for a doll base and creating a total look. The creativity alone is fun and the practice with fashion can pay off off the internet as well.

Barbies are universally recognized making them the perfect statement of your hobbies and things you enjoy. Playing Barbie games is acceptable for any girl and is even encouraged by many parents and other specialists because it inspires so much creativity. Using imagination, creativity and being creative are all nice ways to play online and Barbie games are the perfect way to do just that.

Blonde Fun with Barbie Games

Barbie games are a great way to spend a rainy afternoon. In fact, playing with Barbie games makes everyone feel just a little bit blonde. To me, feeling blonde means feeling the spirit of fashion and adventure. Blonde is a way of life for many people, and Barbie and her high sense of fashion fun is the perfect example of this.

Playing Barbie games gives us a chance to try on that lifestyle to see if it suits. The Barbie games availbel online are great for this. Barbie games give you a doll base, most often a blonde one, and a selection of glamorous and fashionable clothing to try one. Put together outfits you think the blonde bombshell would wear and you’re be playing Barbie games like the pros.

There are other options however, beyond the blonde fun. You can play with other characters with any number of hair colors. Blonde, brunette and even red headed dolls play online, and Barbie sometimes even has pink or purple hair – especially if you’re making a mermaid doll or something else especially creative.

The Three Best Things About Barbie Games

Barbie games are great for many reasons, but as someone who plays Barbie games for fun, I can tell you the best thing about the online games easily enough.

Barbie Games Are Universal
You can find Barbie games almost anywhere. Visit any country and they will have heard of Barbie games, but more so you can visit any country’s entertainment websites and find references to Barbie games there as well. If you get bored playing one country’s versions of Barbie games, simply click over to the websites of another country and play those instead.

Barbie Games Require Creativity
As someone who enjoys using her brain, even when entertaining herself, Barbie games are a great way to play. You get to find coordinating outfits and try new things without too much of the process being automated. The only way to make things more hands-on is if you got to cut and sew the clothes yourself.

Barbie Games Are Flexible
You can play Barbie games for differing amounts of time. Sometimes you want to play for hours, and other times you want a short game for a break between the action. Barbie games accommodate you either way.

The Wonderful World of Barbie Games

Barbie games are great for many reasons, but one of my favorites is because the world of Barbie games is so encompassing. Barbie is an internationally recognized figure and any and all games that deal with Barbie fall under the same umbrella. In fact, you can visit any country in the world and girls of any age will know who Barbie is and will likely have played Barbie games some time in the past.

Today’s Barbie games are online primarily once you move past the number of dolls and doll based games. Once you’re online the complete world of Barbie games opens up to you. There are online Barbie dress up games that can easily entertain you for hours, especially if you print your pictures of use them as the basis for creative stories and such. There are also Barbie games that include flash or creative thinking.

Most girls who enjoy playing Barbie games love them because they do require more thought than simply clicking on buttons or shooting something. Barbie games require dedication and creativity making them great for girls who like to play something online that is a bit challenging and fun at the same time.
