Barbie Games Need More Love

Barbie games have always been popular both in toy stores and online, but in recent years, the Barbie games have lost some of their ever expansive fan base. When the Bratz games appeared, the Barbie games began to suffer. But with the drama that’s followed the Bratz games, I firmly believe it’s time to show the Barbie games a bit more love.

Barbie games have always been wholesome and fashion forward. Mothers encouraged Barbie games simply because they had played them in their youth. Barbie might have an unrealistic figure, but she was independent, dressed well, and became a cultural icon. Bratz games can’t claim the same.

The Bratz games came on strong and stayed that way. The youthful, pouty faces and urban styles attracted many girls, but Barbie fought back. A lawsuit and much publicity later, the Bratz games are at risk, but Barbie is still going strong – just as she has for the last fifty years.

The Characteristics of Barbie Games

Barbie games are a great way to spend time online. Not only do they feature the same Barbie dolls you love to dress up at home, the online version of Barbie games includes hundreds of extra fashions and thousands of options regarding how to dress up the dolls.

Barbie games are wholesome. The typical Barbie game is a pure fashion game. The doll is dressed in clothing that a mother would approve of in most cases and the Barbie games use even more preppy and fun clothing in the games. In Barbie games you’re not likely to find mini skirts, revealing tops or thigh-high boots. You’re going to find the sorts of clothing you can wear to school or to work without complications.

Barbie games are fun. Barbie games are a great way to spend a rainy afternoon. Simply fire up the computer, settle down with some pillows and dress up your Barbie dolls in any shape or style you like. When you play Barbie games, you get the benefits of dressing up your real Barbie dolls, but with plenty more options for clothing and the added benefits of being able to throw clothing on and off at will without having to wrestle tiny plastic hands through sleeves.

Barbie Games Are On Top

In the world of fashion dolls, there is no secret that Barbie games have been under attack for some time. The chief competitor for Barbie games are the Bratz games that have become popular with a certain age group of girls. It used to be that Barbie games were alone in the fashion doll marketplace. But with the introduction of Bratz games about six years ago, the Barbie games have been losing a bit of ground.

But even with the uber hot and trendy Bratz dolls trying to steal Barbie’s thunder, Barbie is still on top. When you look at the reasons for Barbie’s continued success, even with such a popular competitor, you’ll soon discover that Barbie is a universal icon and that people from all over the globe love her for her good looks and appealing style.

Barbie’s style might be more conservative than her competitors, but for many girls playing fashion games, this style is perfectly suitable. The clothing Barbie wears and her many spin-offs are classic, stylish and fashionable without being over the top or unsetting. The best part of Barbie’s style is that she has so many evening gowns and formal looks. There isn’t a girl out there who can resist dressing up Barbie in a beautiful flowing gown.

3 Reasons Barbie Games Have Long Hair

I’ve always loved Barbie games, but I’ll admit that I’ve wondered over the years why there are no, or exceptionally few, Barbies ever made with short hair. Where are the contemporary or punk Barbies? Why do they all look like pageant contestants?

Barbie looks good with long hair. With her small features and large eyes, Barbie carries off her long mane of hair rather nicely. Not everyone can wear her hair to her backside, but Barbie can and does.

Barbie’s long hair offers more styling options. For those who love to do hair, you already realize that Barbie’s long hair gives you the change to braid it, put it up, or leave it down. Having long hair gives you options, and Barbie isn’t a girl to miss out on fashion options.

Barbie’s hair is well known the world over. If you show a picture of Barbie anywhere in the world with short hair, you might have a riot on your hands. Nobody would recognize her, or if they did, they would think you were some sort of sick-o for even suggesting Barbies should wear a shorn head.

My Experience with Barbie Games

My first memory of a Barbie doll dates back as early as my third birthday (I think.) It might have been my fourth now that I think about it. But regardless, I was young and the Barbies were my friends in a big way. Playing Barbie games with my two sisters is a pretty stand-out memory from my childhood, and when we played Barbie games, we all had different roles and items to our names.

My older sister got the horse and the convertible. It was a silver Corvette in those days. My younger sister got Skipper, the preteen Barbie doll and Ken, I believe. But I was the one who got the Barbie dream house. My Barbie house was large, had five rooms and an elevator. It was missing stairs, however. The dream house had a special place in my room, and when we moved, it moved with us.

I used to drag the house into the center of the room, pull out all of my Barbies and play happily for hours playing hostess at elaborate parties or getting Barbie ready for a hot date. I then had to borrow both Ken and his car from two different sisters to make this work, but usually Barbie was dressed so well, it was worth it.

Barbie Games and Magic

There is a lot of magic wrapped up in Barbie games. The toddler who gets her first Barbie or watches a Barbie movie for the first time gets wrapped up in the magic of fashion and even more powerful magic of creativity.

There truly is magic in imagination. Just think of all the things a girl can become when she’s not limited to certain costumes and outfits. Barbie games have always been good at creating a huge variety of costumes and dolls. I especially like the Barbie dolls that appear to be fairies, mermaids or the like.

The sheer magic of dressing up a doll is substantial, but the magical storylines of dressing up a mermaid and having her transform before your very eyes is pretty intense as well. The same is true for a fairy. Your regular Barbie might get in her pink car and go to work, but your fairy Barbie games are going to be more creative. In my mind, at least, the Barbie games that include some magic are also much more fun.

Barbie Games and Movies

There are many movies that seem to become Barbie dolls. I’m sure I could look it up and find the licensing agreements and such, but I’m not complaining. I like the idea of having a Barbie that is an exact replica of my favorite characters. The only complaint I might have about Barbies who appear to be characters is that they already have a built in story line.

For the girls without imaginations, they might think that the only way they can “play” with Gabriella, for example, would be to make her sing karaoke or put her in a high school musical. Barbie’s personality is wide open, but it would feel weird making Sandra D a mean girl or something when playing her character.

The guys are even worse. Ken is a total blank slate, but Barbie games with preformed Barbie men are challenging. Somehow, at least for me, it’s even more challenging to come up with a new personality or storyline for the guy in a movie than the girl. Although it could simple be that I need more practice. Maybe it’s time for some new Barbies.

Barbie Games Win – Hands Down

One thing that’s always amused me about Barbie is that her hands are permanently facing up. So even if she were in a contest with other girl games, Barbie wouldn’t win “hands down,” but I digress. I actually do think that Barbie stacks up rather nicely around the other girls games available. We’ve loved her for years and when she made the move the internet, we simply moved right along with her.

Barbie is one of the most iconic images known throughout the world. When she moved online, it was even easier than ever to enjoy the Barbie games and you could now play with your favorite doll without even getting out your dolls. Barbie games are around us all the time both online and off, and that is part of what makes them so powerful.

In the head-to-head competition between Barbie and Bratz games, I have to say that I still think Barbie comes out the classier player. Bratz games are cheated and ripped off- they have even proved it in court. The Bratz games are full of clothes I’m not sure I’d like my Barbie wearing. But I like the classy selection of gowns and other items that Barbie has available in her wardrobe.

Why You’ll Never Be Over Barbie Games

Barbies are about as classic as it gets for girl games, but when you play Barbie games online, you’re cementing your fate as a girl gamer. Barbie games have moved online and for years, we’ve been enjoying Barbie’s golden locks and stylish clothing options. Dress up Barbie online and share her with a friend or print her out for your own personal collection.

Barbie games have already lasted fifty years. There is no sign that the dolls will ever go away. Barbie is every girl’s best friend around the age of four or five when she begins her Barbie collection. Gifts and collectibles help the Barbie collection to grow and soon she has a full box or tote full of Barbie games. The games are truly classic and you can just as easily play Barbie games with your best friend as you would with your grandmother.

Barbie games seem to grow with us. Early Barbie games include gowns and princesses. Then we move into the favorite characters from movies we’ve enjoyed before completing the collection with the career oriented and imaginative Barbies. Finally, we reach a point where we head online to enjoy Barbie games.
